Creative Marketing Specialist

Volt Athletics is looking for a creative marketing specialist to join our marketing team. The creative marketing specialist is responsible for executing day-to-day digital marketing operations with an emphasis on copywriting and visual content creation, email marketing, social media content and community development, and other marketing projects. This position will report to and work closely with the Director of Marketing & Business Development to ensure all deliverables meet Volt’s marketing objectives and brand standards. 

Candidates must have the desire to work in a creative, changing, and data-driven environment with a high-performance team in the sports technology sector. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own creation and management of written, video, and other digital content
  • Strategize, develop, and execute digital, and traditional marketing efforts
  • Execute email marketing (A/B testing, list segmentation, list maintenance, etc.)
  • Perform website updates and required maintenance
  • Create, execute, and manage social media campaigns and contests
  • Develop and maintain a set of best practices for social posting and guidelines
  • Monitor all social platform interactions, respond when appropriate, and work closely with customer service team to ensure issue resolution
  • Measure, analyze, and report on paid marketing campaigns

Qualifications

  • Strong background in multimedia production tools and graphic design, including Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, AfterEffects; Apple Final Cut Pro
  • 2+ years' experience, with professional experience in social media platforms
  • Solid understanding of social media platforms (specifically Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube)
  • Hands-on experience managing B2C & B2B campaigns
  • Knowledge of tools that monitor, measure, and analyze social media
  • Experience with web analytic platforms preferred
  • Knowledge of trends and technology influencing the digital social industry
  • Visual ad design/creation experience preferred
  • Experience crafting content for social media platforms
  • Strong understanding of SEO and SEM

Quality Engineer

Volt Athletics is searching for a start-up savvy quality engineer to join our growing product team. This person will be responsible for documenting product requirements and verifying successful delivery. Testing and verification will be conducted across Volt's web and mobile applications, using both manual and automated techniques to identify and document defects and usability issues. The QE will have latitude to improve and adapt processes as needed to optimize results.

Experience as a quality engineer on an agile team using iterative software development techniques is required. Familiarity with Jira or other issue/task tracking software is strongly desired. An interest in sports and fitness is very helpful.

Back-end Developer

Volt Athletics is looking for a backend software developer to join our product development team. This person will work alongside other experienced developers to create well-designed, robust, and performant software for consumer facing web and mobile applications. This person will be an integral part of a small but growing team, with considerable opportunity for professional growth and to make a real and lasting contribution to the success of the company. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Write and maintain server-side Ruby software in a multi-tier web application environment making use of the Rails framework 
  • Leverage RSpec, Travis CI, in-house QA, and other tools to ensure your code performs as expected 
  • Tune existing and new APIs for maximum response-time performance and scalability 
  • Work with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements 
  • Participate in agile development process, with daily standup meetings and other planning sessions 
  • Assist client-side and full-stack developers with API creation, modification and documentation 
  • (optional) Assist with client side tasks using Angular.JS and React Native

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be passionate about building exceptional products, enjoy learning, and have excellent problem solving skills 
  • 3+ years' experience writing and maintaining production server-side software for multi-tier web applications 
  • 2+ years' work experience on production Rails applications 
  • Familiarity with SOA, as well as building and maintaining APIs is highly desirable 
  • JavaScript expertise, particularly with Angular or React/React Native, is a big plus

Full-stack Developer

Volt Athletics is seeking a software developer with production experience in 2+ layers of the web application stack. This person will work alongside other experienced developers to create well-designed, robust, and performant software for consumer facing web and mobile applications. This person will be an integral part of a small product development team, with considerable opportunity for professional growth and to make a real and lasting contribution to the success of the company.

The technology stack utilizes Ruby on Rails, AngularJS, React Native, Postgres, and Redis, as well as many other technologies. The ideal candidate has 3+ years' experience with Ruby and JavaScript in a professional setting. Familiarity with Ruby on Rails, AngularJS and/or React Native is a huge plus. Experience with Git, AWS, Heroku and automated testing techniques is nice to have.

Ability to work independently and adapt to changing business needs is critical. All candidates must have strong communication skills. An interest in sports and fitness is helpful.
